Long time no see!

I joined a wonderful Discord and Twitch stream pair at the start of last month and have since spent every Monday and Friday happily painting away at film stills for 2 hours (except for the second from last– that one I only had 20 minutes for). Really excited to get back in the groove of things!

Long time no see! I ran through this piece as a painting exercise this morning, focusing primarily on smooth transitions from plane to plane.

Whew! Today’s featured study. My aim was to focus on brush economy while effectively communicating form & value, which I feel came together quite successfully.

Charcoal doodle! Investing in proper charcoal pencils is high on my to-do list so I can pick more of these up– I adore what the medium is capable of.
